Miami Gardens → Madison, Wisconsin

From the field
to the classroom.

Paul Jackson II grew up in Miami Gardens, Florida. He walked on to play Division I football at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. No scholarship, no guaranteed spot. He earned everything. He became Academic All-Big Ten. He was named Most Likely to Be President by his peers. He was selected to the National Society of Leadership and Success.

He interned in Washington D.C. under Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson. He shook hands with John Lewis. He joined the Black Policy Institute, an international think tank driving racial equity through research and policy. He was appointed to the World Economic Forum as a Global Shapers Curator.

And he chose the classroom.

A Defining Moment

Good trouble.
Necessary trouble.

The summer of 2019, Paul shook hands with Congressman John Lewis in the halls of the U.S. Capitol. The man who marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The man who took 40 arrests for what he believed in. The man who said "Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic."

That handshake carried weight. Not celebrity weight. Purpose weight. Paul was interning under Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. He was surrounded by policy, power, and people who used both for good. That summer confirmed what the classroom had already been telling him: the work is the mission.

The classroom
became a system.
